“Smart” electric meters not so smart, it seems
It’s a lovely idea, anyway: Rather than deal with a boring old analog electric meter in your house, why not upgrade to a “smart” meter that would let you, the homeowner or resident, see how much power you were using, giving you (and the utility company) wireless, real-time access to the juice being gobbled up inside your home.
