Im looking at getting a duel fuel Stove, with 6 burners, and an Electric Oven, Natural gas is not an option where i live, so Im trying to find out how much the average is for a year…. If anyone knows.

Cooktop burner sizes can vary quite a bit. Some of the high priced pro-consumer models can be quite large while there are some low end cooktops with quite small burners…
100,000 btu’s will burn one(1) gallon of propane in one(1) hour…roughly.
If you look at the rating plate of the cooktop you will see the btu’s of each burner.
The way I usually do consumption calculations for people is to take half of the total btu’s of the cooktop and multiply that by the number of hours in an average day you would use it. Some people use an outside grill a lot so the cooktop gets very little use. Others use stovetop kettles and drink 18 cups of tea a day! It varies quite a bit…
So lets say you have a 35,000 btu cooktop and you use it 3 hours a day? (Err on the high side here)
(35,000 รท 2) x 3 = 52,500 btu’s consumption per day. That’s a little over half a gallon a day. To put it into perspective, a 20 lb grill cylinder is a little under 5 gallons. You would use a 20lb cylinder every 7-10 days.
This particular customer would use a little under 200 gallons a year. You will need to massage these numbers to your particular situation, but that’s pretty average… Hope this helps!
